The "Seafile Client" is a software that allows you to synchronize your data from the cloud to a desired work computer. The range of functions is similar to the web version of Seafile, but it is much easier to use. Here you will find instructions on how to set up the client on a normal workstation PC (devices excluded from administration).
The initialization of the Seafile client will then start automatically. In the first step, you will be asked to specify a default folder for synchronization. By default, this is the user folder. If a different storage location is required, specify this and then click Next.
Note:
The default folder is not the main folder where the files will be stored later!
In the window that opens, you will now be asked which server the client should connect to. Select the "Single Sign-On" option in the bottom left-hand corner of the window.
The Seafile server address must be entered in the field that opens:
https://seafile.rlp.net
(Please enter exactly as shown!)
After successfully logging in, you will be asked whether the standard library should be synchronized. If this is desired, confirm the queries accordingly. If you want to synchronize additional libraries, this can be set up in the main window of the Seafile client. Open this by clicking on the Seafile icon in the info area (you may first have to click on the arrow to make the icon visible)
