These instructions only apply to Landau identifiers!

Importing a personal certificate into Apple Mail

Note: Please apply for a user certificate beforehand, as described in the instructions here.

 

1. open the exported certificate file by clicking on it.

2. you will be asked to enter the password for the certificate file.

3. after you have entered the password, the certificate is imported into your key ring and is thus available to "Apple Mail".

As soon as you compose a new email, you can select two new icons on the right-hand side. The first button "Lock" provides you with an encryption function. This can only be used if you have a Publickey for the desired recipient. With the second button "Tick" you can activate or deactivate the signature of your emails.
